Sarah Lane

Sarah “Sal” Lane

CO

Sal has been practicing orthotics for 36 years. She began her career at a facility in Richmond, VA as an Orthotic Technician. She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a BS in education. After working at a school for disabled individuals she acquired her interest in orthotics. She then moved to Richmond to learn fabrication of the devices. From there she was on to Chicago to attend NUPOC a branch of Northwestern University specializing in orthotics and prosthetics. She has experience working with patients from 6 weeks to 106 years old. After working for several other orthotic companies Sal decided to branch out and open her own in 2009. In 2021 Sal and Indi decided to collaborate and form their own company with the addition of prosthetics. They both have similar approaches to direct patient care, and always strive to go above and beyond for each and every patient. Sal enjoys traveling and exploring as much of this earth as possible.

Indi Hewavita

CP, BOCO

Indi grew up in Sri-Lanka and moved to the US with his family in his teens. He finished his undergraduate studies in Biology at NC State University. He first became interested in prosthetics after completing a missions trip abroad where he witnessed the poor treatment of disabled men, women and children. He completed his prosthetic studies at California State University. He completed his prosthetic residency in Raleigh North Carolina. Indi has been a practitioner for over 15 years. During the past 15 years Indi has worked for Large and small prosthetic companies. He decided to start Valley Orthotics & Prosthetics with Sarah Lane with the goal of approaching prosthetic and orthotic care in a more relational aspect where patients are more than a name on a chart. During his “free” time Indi enjoys spending time with his wife and 4 kids and managing his hobby farm.

Cody Dean

Cody Dean

Cody first became interested in orthotics and prosthetics during his time at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va where he received his bachelors degree in health sciences with a concentration in biomechanics. He later continued his education at Northwestern University in Chicago, Il. where he received his masters degree in orthotics and prosthetics. Next, Cody moved to Orlando, Fl. to complete a two year residency program during which he was exposed to some of the largest hospital systems in the U.S. Cody gained vast experience working with both pediatrics and adults presenting with many different pathologies. Finally, he made the decision to return to his home state of Virginia to join Valley O&P as a Certified Prosthetist Orthotist. During his leisure time Cody enjoys hunting, fishing and camping with his friends and family. *Fun fact, Cody also has experience with making orthotics and prosthetics for animals!

Meg Petitt

Patient care Coordinator

Meg is one of the friendly voices that you might here when you call our Winchester office. She provides excellent customer service and patient advocacy. She manages the practitioner schedules and verify insurance coverage for your prescribed prosthesis or orthosis. Meg says she feels blessed to be a part of a team that genuinely cares for each patient’s quality outcome and recovery. In her spare time meg enjoys reading and creative story writing, physical fitness and hiking/exploring in warmer weather, home improvement projects and online shopping. She has two teens that keep her busy with their many activities and elaborate social lives. She also has two rescued cats, a dog, and bunny as apart of the family.

Vicki Clem

Insurance and billing Specialist

Vicki has been apart of the Valley team for 10 years! She is our insurance and billing specialist. She loves to see amazing patient outcomes through the work that we do. Outside of work, Vicki enjoys crafts and crocheting.

Margaret Milord

Diabetic Shoe Specialist

Margaret has been a part of the Valley team since 2015. Prior to joining the Valley Orthotics & Prosthetics, Margaret worked as a PTA for the Valley Health System. She attended Saint Petersburg college in Florida to become an orthotic fitter. She has transitioned to service our diabetic shoe as well as fitting off the shelf bracing. She enjoys spending time with family and friends in her spare time. She also enjoys her dogs Bandit and Tyson as well as practicing Reiki

Kevin Mason

Orthotic Technician

Kevin has been apart of the team since in 2018. He has worked in many industries and is a jack of all trades. He is responsible for all in house fabrication of custom orthotic devices. He loves to see patients’ faces light up with happiness, when they are fitted with a custom brace, that improves the quality of their daily life.

In his free time, he likes outdoor activities, seeing new places, spending time with family, and playing music.
